
One
of the locals at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the Eastern water dragon.
These lizards can be seen scurrying around the sanctuary and especially during summer, when the heat brings them out to work on their sunbaking!
While the Water dragon may look a little scary, they're really more frightened of us and will scamper away when you walk past.

A must-see when visiting the sanctuary, is the Shingle-back lizard, a bizarre looking creature that looks as though it could have travelled to earth from outer space!
