Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Excursions

One of the most important roles of wildlife parks, sanctuaries, centres and zoos is providing educational opportunities for local, domestic and international visitors.  Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is no different.  Only 15 minutes from the heart of Brisbane City, Lone Pine is a popular destination for K-12, tertiary and vacation care excursions.  All programs are linked to the Queensland curriculum, so come and experience the unique opportunity of getting up close and personal with Australia's amazing wildlife.

Add a wild experience to your science and sose units next year.  Perfectly complimenting the education Queensland curriculum, 2010 marks another fresh education year at Lone Pine. Updated programs incorporating your feedback from 2009 and new ideas from Lone Pine's own wildlife and education officers, 2010 is sure to be our best year yet! 
 


What you need to know


Hours of operation

Excursions can be booked Monday to Friday during Lone Pine's opening hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm


Programs

There are a range of programs to suit K-12 students, as well as ESL, special needs and vacation care programs.


Risk assessment

Safety notes are provided within the Teaching Notes for each program once your excursion has been booked.


Minimum numbers

K-12 programs require a minimum booking of 15 students, vacation care requires a minimum booking of 12 students.


Education officers

Each member of the education team holds a current Working with Children card. Click here to meet the officers.






Bookings are essential. Due to the popularity of the education programs, it is recommended you book well in advance.
