A solitary animals which feeds from late afternoon through to early morning. It rarely ventures more than 70 metres from the forest edge.
Fallen leaves, fruits from rainforest plants and native grasses.
A single young is born between April and June. The joey remains in the pouch for seven months and weaning occurs at nine months of age.
Common in rainforests along the eastern coast of Queensland and New South Wales, but also occurs in wet sclerophyll forests and vine thickets.
