The Eastern Water
Dragon is a wild lizard that lives within the grounds of Lone
Pine. It is one of over 60 species of dragon-like lizards
that live in Australia. Adult males may reach 90 cm in
length and are more brightly coloured than females.

| Food |

Feeds on a range of
insects, molluscs, crustaceans, vegetation and native
fruits. Sometimes small mammals and fish are also eaten.

| Breeding |
|
Breeding occurs
throughout spring, with clutches of six to 18 eggs being laid in
burrows during summer. The eggs hatch after 80 days.

| Habitat |

It is usually found on
rocks, logs or overhanging vegetation close to waterways, along
the eastern coast of Australia.
