Please take care when driving off road, not to disturb natural vegetation.
A general rule is not to add or remove anything from National Parks. This means for example not to leave rubbish behind, remove plants or use wood from the park to make a fire. Camping stores have convenient gas cookers that can be used.
When travelling on outback roads, be on the look out for animals crossing the road. If you see any road signs indicating native wildlife may be present, take special care. Kangaroos and possums have a habit of seeing a car at night and stopping in the middle of the road, blinded by the headlights. This is deadly for the animal and even dangerous for the car passengers as a high speed impact with a large kangaroo can severely damage even a large vehicle.
